According to estimates, the system will generate approximately 1,878.2 MWh of clean electricity annually, helping to reduce reliance on grid electricity, optimise energy costs, and cut CO₂ emissions by an estimated 1,238 tonnes per year.

When Construction Must Adapt to a Five-Star Guest Experience

Installing an energy system at an operational property always requires careful planning and close coordination. At a five-star resort, these requirements become even more demanding because guest reception and services continue around the clock.

Hyatt Regency Danang operates 24/7. Therefore, from the project’s commencement in early August, construction activities have been carried out in parallel with the resort’s ongoing operations. Work that may generate noise must be scheduled during appropriate timeframes, while material delivery, equipment movement, and the arrangement of construction zones must minimise disruption to the resort environment and guest circulation.

Hyatt Regency Danang’s coastal location introduces additional considerations for a system designed to operate over many years. High humidity, salt-laden air, strong winds, and the risk of metal corrosion must all be addressed throughout the design, solution selection, and construction process.

Certain sloped concrete roof areas also require mounting solutions compatible with the existing structure, while ensuring waterproofing performance and long-term durability.

The project also presents specific coordination requirements because the property owner and the resort operator are separate entities. Many work items must undergo inspection, approval, and alignment among multiple departments before implementation. Consequently, project progress depends not only on construction speed but also on the ability to manage the interfaces between technical teams, resort operations, and property requirements.

Hyatt Regency Danang continues SolarBK’s growing portfolio of projects in Central Vietnam. These include the 2.7 MWp Phu An Spinning project and the approximately 1.7 MWp Mikado Hue project in Hue; the 2.3 MWp DH Textile project and the 1.22 MWp Cell Bio Human Tech project in Danang and surrounding areas; the 1.4 MWp PNS Chun project in Quang Ngai; and another project at MDF VRG Quang Tri.

In August 2026 alone, SolarBK further expanded its presence in the region with an 11 MWp rooftop solar project at the Miera Hue factory. The system is expected to generate approximately 15.81 million kWh of clean electricity and reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 10,400 tonnes annually. On 14 August, a system combining 2.2 MWp of solar power with a 2.3 MWh BESS at Sedo Vinako in Danang officially commenced commercial operation, marking the first commercial Solar + BESS project implemented by SolarBK to achieve COD.

SolarBK’s presence at Hyatt also builds on the company’s experience in the resort segment. Previously, SolarBK implemented an approximately 2.48 MWp solar power system at Alma Resort in Cam Ranh, which generated approximately 3.76 million kWh during its first year of operation.

From Bai Dai to Danang, the common denominator is not merely the use of available rooftop space, but the requirement to make clean energy an integral part of resort asset operations.

These projects reflect a shift in how businesses approach renewable energy. The question is no longer simply how many MWp can be installed on a rooftop. More importantly, it is about how that energy source can be integrated into existing operations and what value it can generate throughout the asset’s lifecycle.
