On August 12, 2026, at La Son Industrial Park in Hue City, Miera Hue Co., Ltd. and SolarBK officially signed a cooperation agreement to develop an 11.1 MWp rooftop solar project under the ESCO model. The project is expected to generate approximately 15.81 million kWh of clean electricity annually for the factory’s operations, contributing to improved energy efficiency and lower emissions at Miera Hue. Greening the Ceramic Industry: From Energy Costs to Competitiveness
For the ceramic tile industry, the green transition is becoming increasingly intertwined with economic performance. According to Cerame-Unie, the European Ceramic Industry Association, energy can account for up to 30% of total ceramic production costs, highlighting the industry's sensitivity to energy price fluctuations and the growing need for greater efficiency.
For the ceramic tile industry, the green transition is becoming increasingly intertwined with economic performance.
Cost, however, is only part of the challenge. The production of ceramic, porcelain, and granite tiles—particularly the drying and firing processes—is highly energy-intensive. At the same time, the growth of green buildings and increasing requirements for environmental performance and emissions transparency across supply chains are bringing greater attention to the sources of energy used in production and the carbon footprint of manufacturing processes.
In Vietnam, the building materials industry is also moving toward more efficient use of resources and energy, technological innovation, and emissions reduction. This presents ceramic manufacturers with a dual challenge: improving production efficiency today while building the capabilities needed to meet increasingly stringent sustainability requirements in the future.
Miera Hue Develops 11.1 MWp Rooftop Solar Project under ESCO Model
Miera Hue Co., Ltd., a member of Hoa Binh Minh Group, operates a ceramic, porcelain, and granite tile manufacturing facility covering a total land area of 211,408.6 m² at La Son Industrial Park in Hue City. The company supplies products to the domestic market while gradually expanding its exports and targeting markets with high standards for quality and sustainability.

The relationship between SolarBK and Miera Hue began in 2023 and has developed through ongoing discussions on the factory's energy requirements. Since March 2026, the two companies have intensified the assessment of Miera Hue's energy needs and the development of a solution designed to utilize on-site renewable energy in line with the factory's operational characteristics.
The project is being implemented under the ESCO model, enabling Miera Hue to use solar-generated electricity for its manufacturing operations without having to directly fund the entire system. The model also aligns the investor's responsibilities with the project's long-term operational performance.
With a total installed capacity of 11.1 MWp, the system is expected to generate approximately 15.81 million kWh of clean electricity annually and contribute to reducing carbon emissions by approximately 10,422 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
Beyond making productive use of the factory's available rooftop space to generate clean electricity on-site, the project is expected to improve energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of Miera Hue's manufacturing operations.
Mr Vu Manh Au, Director of Miera Hue Co., Ltd., noted that amid intensifying competition and the high energy consumption of the ceramic industry
At the signing ceremony, Vu Manh Au, Director of Miera Hue Co., Ltd., noted that amid intensifying competition and the high energy consumption of the ceramic industry, the project is expected to help the company gradually optimize production costs, strengthen competitiveness, and become more proactive in its use of clean energy.
“This is also an important step in the direction pursued by Miera Hue and Hoa Binh Minh Group toward greener manufacturing, creating an additional foundation for our products to further expand into export markets and meet increasingly demanding requirements in major markets such as the United States and Europe,” Mr. Au said.
From SolarBK's perspective, Nguyen Duong Tuan, CEO of SolarBK, emphasized that the project's value extends beyond its 11.1 MWp capacity to the long-term partnership between the two companies, in which project performance is closely linked to the interests of both parties.
“Solar power is not the end goal; it is one part of a broader approach to enterprise energy management. Building on nearly 20 years of technology development and industry experience, SolarBK aims to work alongside businesses not only in developing clean energy sources, but also in monitoring, managing, and optimizing energy use so that the value of each project can be sustained throughout its operational life,” Mr. Tuan said.

Proven Experience Across the Ceramic Industry and Central Vietnam
Prior to the Miera Hue project, SolarBK had accumulated experience in deploying solar energy systems at a number of ceramic and building-material manufacturing facilities, including Prime Group in Vinh Phuc with 8.5 MWp, Tasa Ceramic in Phu Tho with 8.7 MWp, Prime Ngoi Viet in Thai Nguyen with 1 MWp, and Prime Pho Yen in Thai Nguyen with 0.8 MWp.
This sector-specific experience is complemented by SolarBK's project track record across Central Vietnam. In Hue alone, the company has implemented projects including Phu An Spinning with 2.8 MWp, Phu Bai Spinning with 3.2 MWp, and Mikado Hue with 1.7 MWp, as well as DH Textile in Da Nang with 2.5 MWp and a range of other industrial projects across the region.
Behind these capacity figures is practical experience in deploying energy systems at operating manufacturing facilities, where requirements related to safety, structural integrity, project schedules, and minimizing disruption to ongoing production must be addressed alongside energy performance.
For Miera Hue, the 11.1 MWp project adds a new component to the factory's energy strategy, where energy costs, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction are becoming increasingly connected to product competitiveness.

For SolarBK, the project further expands its experience in deploying the ESCO model for industrial customers, particularly in energy-intensive manufacturing sectors.
As energy use and emissions increasingly become part of supply-chain requirements, the project's performance will ultimately be measured not only by its 11.1 MWp of installed capacity, but also by the economic and environmental value that clean electricity delivers throughout the factory's operations.
