As export-oriented manufacturers face increasing pressure from ESG requirements, supply chain transparency, and carbon reduction commitments, rooftop solar energy is gradually becoming an integral part of long-term operational strategies, rather than a supplementary investment.
The rooftop solar project at Cell Bio Human Tech Vina (Da Nang) is a representative example of this transition. In this project, energy efficiency, ESG compliance, and the credibility of the implementation partner converged into a relatively swift investment decision, reflecting how FDI manufacturers are approaching energy transition in a practical and cautious manner.

Korean Enterprises Under Green Pressure: Trusted Reputation Accelerates Investment Decisions
Cell Bio Human Tech Vina operates in the field of nonwoven materials derived from natural cellulose, serving the cosmetics and personal care industries—value chains with stringent environmental and emissions-tracking requirements. For Korean enterprises deeply embedded in global supply chains, adopting clean energy is not only about cost optimization, but also a prerequisite for maintaining export capacity and brand credibility.
Within this context, rooftop solar was identified by Cell Bio as a strategic move to integrate renewable energy into production operations, reduce reliance on grid electricity, and proactively meet increasingly strict ESG standards from international partners. Notably, the investment decision was made within a relatively short timeframe, underscoring the critical role of a proven and trusted implementation partner within the FDI business community.
Implementation Challenges Under Central Vietnam’s Climate Conditions
While project preparation progressed smoothly, the construction phase posed considerable challenges. The project broke ground on October 14, 2025, and was completed and commissioned on January 10, 2026, coinciding with the peak rainy season in Central Vietnam.
Installing a rooftop solar system under conditions of heavy rainfall and high humidity required stringent standards in occupational safety, quality control, and schedule coordination. Unlike ground-mounted solar projects, rooftop installations demand flexible construction planning, including temporary suspension during unfavorable weather, to ensure safety and long-term durability. In practice, the performance of rooftop solar projects in Central Vietnam depends not only on design and equipment, but significantly on construction management capability and adaptability to local climate conditions.
Rooftop solar was identified by Cell Bio as a strategic step to integrate renewable energy into its manufacturing operations, reduce dependence on the power grid, and proactively meet increasingly stringent ESG standards.
From Regional Credibility to Cell Bio’s Investment Decision
The rooftop solar system at Cell Bio’s factory was designed as a grid-connected system installed on industrial rooftops, with a total capacity of 1.222 MWp, using 620 Wp modules to optimize power density and generation efficiency. The system is expected to generate approximately 1,825 MWh annually, equivalent to 1,825 iREC renewable energy certificates per year, reducing around 1,202.97 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to planting more than 52,300 trees.
Through its expansion of rooftop solar deployment in Central Vietnam, SolarBK has built strong regional credibility via multiple projects operating reliably, including Vincom Da Nang and ITL Logistics Da Nang, flagship projects that demonstrate the company’s execution capability and long-term operational performance.
The performance of the Sedo Vinako project (Da Nang) helped strengthen trust within the Korean business community, creating a solid foundation for SolarBK to be selected for the Cell Bio project.
Building on that foundation, the 1.6247 MWp rooftop solar project at Sedo Vinako (Da Nang), a Korean FDI manufacturer, became a significant milestone. The system enables annual electricity savings of approximately VND 2 billion, generates around 2,300 iREC certificates per year, and reduces roughly 1,600 tons of CO₂ annually, enhancing the company’s competitiveness when expanding exports to Europe, the United States, Canada, and other major markets. These tangible operational results strengthened confidence within the Korean business community, paving the way for SolarBK to be selected for the Cell Bio project.
At a broader level, the Cell Bio project illustrates that energy transition among FDI manufacturers in Central Vietnam is being driven not merely by technology or cost considerations, but by credibility built through real-world projects and proven long-term performance.
