ESG in Corporate Strategy and Practice
On September 23, 2025, at SolarBK headquarters in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA) in collaboration with SolarBK and leading experts hosted Green Training 09.2025 under the theme “The Impact of ESG on the Green Transition”.
The event brought together experts from Deloitte, Green Transition, SEDEX, and IFC (World Bank Group). Presentations helped Vietnamese businesses approach ESG systematically – from practice frameworks and strategic integration roadmaps to supply chain governance and environmental-social risk management according to international standards.
Ms. Pham Minh Huong (Deloitte Vietnam) presented the ESG Practice Framework, emphasizing materiality assessment instead of trend-following
Unlike conventional trainings, Green Training combined theory with hands-on practice. Ms. Pham Minh Huong (Deloitte Vietnam) presented the ESG Practice Framework, emphasizing materiality assessment instead of trend-following. Mr. Nguyen Cong Minh Bao (Green Transition) introduced an 8-step ESG roadmap, stressing that ESG should be embedded into corporate strategy, even for SMEs. Ms. Dinh Nguyen Bich Le (SEDEX Vietnam) shared candid insights on global buyer pressures, while IFC experts presented ESMS – a structured system for environmental and social risk management.

The program attracted nearly 50 businesses, including senior managers, experts, and scientists. This turnout clearly reflected the growing interest of Vietnamese enterprises in the green transition and ESG practice. Throughout the day, participants raised almost 10 in-depth questions, underscoring the urgency and seriousness of their engagement.
According to participant feedback, thanks to case studies, quizzes, and group discussions, ESG became “alive” – easy to understand and directly applicable to day-to-day operations.
Frank Dialogue: ESG in Practice
The highlight of the program was the open dialogue session. Businesses asked pressing questions: “How can SMEs implement ESG without high costs?”, “If suppliers are not yet compliant, will we be excluded from global supply chains?”, “What is the standard method to calculate and offset carbon?”

Mr. Le Minh Thong – Technical Director of Tan Quang Minh (Bidrico) noted that while his company already holds multiple green certifications, Green Training offered a more complete picture: how to connect ESG elements into a unified system. “We were impressed by the openness and practicality of the program, and we look forward to collaborating with HGBA on this journey,” he said.
These candid exchanges turned the training into a genuine forum where international knowledge and Vietnam’s business realities met to shape solutions.
SolarBK and the Mark of a “Green Event”
Beyond the content, Green Training 09.2025 stood out for its organization. SolarBK, in collaboration with Green Transition, implemented “Net Zero Event” criteria: minimizing single-use plastics, encouraging eco-friendly commuting, calculating the event’s carbon footprint, and offsetting emissions via a biochar project in Quang Tri.
As a result, the program was awarded the “Green Event Certification” by Green Transition – clear proof that sustainable event management is achievable in Vietnam.
Mr. Vu Linh Quang – Vice President and Secretary General of HGBA remarked: “Green Training 09.2025 demonstrates that ESG can be transformed from a slogan into a concrete action tool.”
