An ESG training event meeting international green standards – The story of Green Training 09/2025

Publish date 27/09/2025

When the Net Zero commitment is no longer just a distant pledge, many Vietnamese businesses are beginning to bring sustainability into their most practical activities. Green Training 9/2025 is a prime example: an ESG training program organized under international sustainable event standards, with a full process of measuring – disclosing – offsetting carbon emissions.

On September 23, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA) collaborated with SolarBK and Green Transition to host Green Training 9/2025 at SolarBK’s headquarters in 47 Le Van Thinh street, Ho Chi Minh City.

This event was not just an ESG training session - it became a model of how Vietnamese businesses can organize sustainable, low-carbon events.

Behind the Scenes: Achieving an Internationally Certified Green Event

The organizers adopted global sustainable event standards (ISO 20121, GHG Protocol, IPCC, ISO 14064) to control and reduce the environmental impact throughout the event lifecycle:

Green logistics & mobility: guests were encouraged to bring reusable bottles, access materials via QR codes instead of printed handouts, and travel by bicycle, EV, or take the stairs.

Low-carbon catering: plant-based menu options, allergen labeling, reusable or compostable tableware, and daily food waste sorting & treatment by Truong Xuan Trong Environment Services.

Sustainable infrastructure: energy management systems, fire safety compliance, multilingual wayfinding, bike parking, and EV-friendly access.

Participants were encouraged to bring their own water bottles and use the stairs to minimize environmental impact.
SolarBK, as the co-organizer and venue provider, strictly adhered to sustainable event principles - from optimizing electricity and water use to waste control and safe, eco-friendly facilities. This reflects SolarBK’s long-term ESG commitment not just in its renewable energy solutions but in how it runs its operations.

Post-event surveys showed 75% of attendees rated the event “very satisfactory” and 25% “satisfactory”, with strong appreciation for the low-carbon and transparent emission reporting.

Carbon No Longer Invisible – Turning Data into Net Zero Action

A highlight of Green Training 9/2025 was its transparent carbon footprint measurement.

Data was collected across electricity consumption, attendee travel, waste generation, water use, and building specs. Calculations followed GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-2, powered by Green Transition’s specialized tools.

Unavoidable emissions were offset via a biochar production project in Quang Tri, which locks carbon long-term, drives circular economy practices, and supports local livelihoods.

This proves Net Zero isn’t distant, it’s possible today with science-based action.

Guests also experienced a real-time CO₂ emission tracking system, part of the transparent carbon measurement process at Green Training 09/2025.
Official Recognition: “Sustainable Event” Certification

SolarBK – Beyond Renewable Energy, Leading in Green Event Practices

At the program, Ms. Hoàng Thị Uyên – Chief Operating Officer of SolarESCO – shared that for SolarBK, ESG is no longer just a development strategy but has become an integral part of the company’s DNA.

Over nearly 20 years, SolarBK has built a closed-loop value chain - from research and manufacturing to integrating renewable energy solutions - with a consistent mission to reduce emissions and promote sustainable development. She emphasized that applying Net Zero criteria to Green Training 09.2025 is a natural continuation of this journey, proving that hosting green events in Vietnam is entirely feasible and can even create new value for branding and community engagement.

Also at the event, Ms. Sylvie Lam – Deputy CEO of SolarBK, noted that Green Training 9/2025 was an opportunity for SolarBK to introduce SolarCafe, a green community space where people can experience sustainable living in a practical and approachable way. She highlighted that when ESG becomes part of a company’s culture, organizations not only meet international standards but can also inspire and drive positive change within society.

A Pathway for Vietnamese Businesses

Green Training 9/2025 shows that ESG is no longer an abstract concept but a practical pathway for Vietnamese companies. Starting small, such as hosting a green event, helps businesses get used to carbon accounting, transparent reporting, and global sustainability standards. It’s also a way to gradually build a sustainable corporate culture and prepare for upcoming ESG regulations.

Early adoption gives companies more than compliance: it builds brand trust, investor confidence, and talent attraction - powerful competitive advantages in a future shaped by Net Zero.

From One Workshop to a Green Movement

Green Training 9/2025 ends not just as an ESG training but as proof that Vietnam can deliver internationally certified sustainable events.
Measuring, disclosing, and offsetting emissions - with science and collaboration, shows Net Zero can begin with something as simple as a single workshop.

If your company wants to start ESG, begin small, host a sustainable event. It’s a strategic first step to build momentum toward Net Zero.
