The 802 kWp rooftop solar project at Prime Pho Yen 2 marks another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between PRIME Group and SolarBK in advancing energy transition across building materials manufacturing facilities.
In the building materials industry, particularly ceramic tile manufacturing, energy is one of the most critical operating costs. With large-scale production facilities and continuous electricity demand, many manufacturers are increasingly adopting renewable energy solutions to optimize long-term operating costs and reduce carbon emissions. In parallel, ESG standards and global supply chain decarbonization requirements are accelerating the transition toward sustainable manufacturing practices.
Against this backdrop, PRIME Group has been among the early adopters integrating sustainable energy strategies into its long-term development vision. As one of Vietnam’s leading ceramic tile brands, PRIME continues to strengthen its reputation not only through product quality but also through strategic investments in technology and sustainable operations. In 2025, PRIME was recognized as the “Most Influential Brand” in the ceramic tile category by Influential Brands, further reinforcing its position in the building materials sector.

Today, PRIME Group operates 14 member companies with a network of modern manufacturing plants. Its products are distributed nationwide and exported to more than 24 countries and territories. The integration of renewable energy into manufacturing operations has become an important step toward improving operational efficiency while supporting long-term carbon reduction goals.
Trust Built Through Long-Term Partnership
In 2021, while the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted economic activities and the rooftop solar market entered a period of uncertainty, many businesses postponed renewable energy investments due to unclear policies and market conditions. Despite these challenges, PRIME and SolarBK continued their collaboration to develop rooftop solar systems across PRIME’s manufacturing facilities.
From technical assessment and system design consulting to project implementation, SolarBK has worked alongside PRIME to develop a series of rooftop solar projects in Thai Nguyen and Vinh Phuc (now Phu Tho). To date, the total installed capacity of these projects has reached approximately 8.6 MWp.
Among them, the first system at Prime Pho Yen, with a capacity of 1,863 kWp, has been operating stably and contributing clean electricity to manufacturing operations. The existing systems across PRIME factories currently generate approximately 9 GWh of clean electricity annually.

Based on the emission factor issued by Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (0.6592 kg CO₂/kWh), this amount of clean electricity is estimated to reduce approximately 5,900 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, contributing to PRIME’s sustainability goals and enhancing its green manufacturing image within the global building materials supply chain.
Beyond extensive experience in industrial solar deployment, SolarBK also benefits from an ecosystem of in-house research and equipment manufacturing in Vietnam. This technological autonomy enables the company to optimize system configurations, maintain strict quality control, and ensure project timelines for large-scale manufacturing facilities.
Prime Pho Yen 2: Advancing Sustainable Manufacturing Goals
As part of the 2026 expansion phase, the rooftop solar system at Prime Pho Yen will be expanded with an additional capacity of 802 kWp. According to technical simulations, the system is expected to generate approximately 730 MWh of clean electricity annually, helping reduce dependence on the national power grid during peak production hours.
The Prime Pho Yen 2 project further demonstrates how energy transition is becoming an increasingly important strategy for industrial manufacturers in Vietnam.
Using the emission factor published by Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (0.6592 kg CO₂/kWh), the project is estimated to reduce approximately 481 tons of CO₂ emissions per year, equivalent to the annual carbon absorption capacity of around 22,000 trees.
The system incorporates more than 1,200 photovoltaic modules combined with high-capacity inverters, optimized for the continuous operational requirements of ceramic tile manufacturing plants.
