SolarBK 2025: A Year of Strategic Alliances, Technology and Green Transformation

Publish date 31/12/2025

From policy, technology and projects to people, SolarBK closes 2025 not merely as a solution provider, but as a partner shaping Vietnam’s clean energy infrastructure for a sustainable future.

The year 2025 marked a new chapter for Vietnam’s energy sector. As the FIT mechanism faded into the past, a competitive power market began to take shape, while ESG, CBAM and Net Zero targets became mandatory requirements rather than optional commitments. Renewable energy is no longer viewed as an experimental solution, but as a foundational capability for business resilience, industrial zones’ ability to attract FDI, sustainable urban development and the nation’s pathway toward Net Zero.

For SolarBK, 2025 was not simply about commissioned projects. It was a year of consolidating its role as a clean energy infrastructure architect—where policy, technology, financial models and people converge into an integrated ecosystem.

Policy and Market: Moving Ahead of the Competitive Power Market

In March 2025, the launch of ESCO NEXT, a joint venture between SolarBK and Banpu NEXT, marked a strategic step into the competitive electricity era. With an initial deployment scale of nearly 400 MWp, ESCO NEXT represents more than a project pipeline; it signals SolarBK’s transition from a pure EPC contractor to a comprehensive energy solutions developer.

Through ESCO and PPA models, Vietnamese enterprises can access clean energy without upfront capital expenditure, while mitigating cost risks amid increasing ESG and CBAM pressures across global supply chains.

At the same time, SolarBK strengthened its policy advocacy role by joining the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association, opening pathways for SMEs—Vietnam’s largest economic force, to access green energy solutions.

At the “Emission Reduction and Air Filtration” forum organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, Deputy CEO of SolarBK, emphasized that green transition is irreversible, while highlighting regulatory bottlenecks in residential rooftop solar and direct power purchase mechanisms. She also underscored the importance of prioritizing domestic products and services to enable Vietnamese enterprises to actively participate in the energy transition.

Technology and Solutions: Mastering a Make in Vietnam Ecosystem

At the Energy Innovation Forum 2025, SolarBK shared its nearly two-decade journey of investing in R&D, commercializing technology and building domestic capabilities. Its technology ecosystem, comprising IREX photovoltaic manufacturing and the ERIS intelligent energy management platform, was presented not as standalone products, but as long-term foundations for energy security and digitalized operations.

This philosophy, “technology must deliver real-world value”, was reinforced at Techfest Dong Nai 2025, where Mr. Ky Quang Minh, Director of Research & Development, highlighted SolarBK’s pathway from laboratory innovation to commercial deployment, affirming that the company not only develops technology but truly masters it.

Flagship Projects: When Clean Energy Becomes Part of Production Infrastructure

Throughout the year, SolarBK continued embedding clean energy into the operational and supply-chain structures of Vietnamese enterprises.

From rooftop solar systems at VinFast, Vietnam’s only company listed in the TIME100 Company ranking, to the iconic LEGO factory in Binh Duong, the LEGO Group’s first carbon-neutral factory worldwide, Vietnamese-developed clean energy solutions have proven their ability to meet the most stringent international standards through robust technology and project governance.

Beyond large-scale projects, SolarBK expanded clean energy adoption across industrial sectors. In February 2024, SolarBK completed a 1,624.7 kWp rooftop solar system for Sedo Vinako’s factory in Quang Nam under the ESCO NEXT financial and technical model. This approach enabled the manufacturer to transition to renewable energy without upfront investment, generating approximately 2,300 I-REC certificates annually to support exports to the EU, the US and Canada, while reducing electricity costs and cutting around 1,600 tons of CO₂ per year.

In Northern Vietnam, a nearly 1,000 kWp system for Leading Star in Thanh Hoa, integrated with the ERIS energy management platform, has become a reference model for the commercial and industrial segment, enabling performance monitoring, operational optimization and annual emissions reductions of approximately 769 tons of CO₂. Together with numerous projects across textiles, wood processing and construction materials, SolarBK is positioning renewable energy as a core management component and a sustainable competitive advantage for Vietnamese enterprises.

People: Vision and a Philosophy for the Long Journey

In 2025, The Leader magazine published an in-depth feature on Mr. Nguyen Duong Tuan, CEO of SolarBK, tracing a nearly 20-year journey from projects in Truong Sa and DK1, ESCO initiatives with EVN, to landmark developments such as LEGO and over 30 MWp of rooftop solar at VinFast. The article recognized SolarBK as one of the few Vietnamese companies to survive the “energy winter” of 2021–2024 through self-consumption strategies, R&D investment and international alliances.

On HTV’s program “For a Green Life,” Mr. Nguyen Duong Tuan reiterated SolarBK’s philosophy of “moving calmly to go far”, remaining steadfast with real technology and honoring commitments to customers even during market downturns.

Expanding Markets, Communities and Strategic Platforms

In 2025, SolarBK’s clean energy solutions extended beyond factories. In cooperation with the German Development Cooperation, SolarBK introduced balcony solar systems from Germany to Vietnam, enabling urban households to access clean electricity at affordable costs. In tourism, SolarBK participated in the forum “Clean Energy in Tourism Development” at ITE Ho Chi Minh City, demonstrating how solar energy can enhance profitability for resorts and hotels such as Alma Resort, Majestic Hotel and Saigon Hotel.

In education and community engagement, the “Harvesting Sunlight – Lighting the Future” program delivered solar-plus-storage systems to remote schools. SolarBK also donated a solar power system to the University of Economics and Technology for Industries, opening avenues for research collaboration and technology transfer.

In September 2025, SolarBK co-organized Green Training 2025 with the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association. The event gathered over 50 enterprises and experts from IFC, Deloitte, SEDEX and Green Transition, and was certified as a “Green Event,” underscoring SolarBK’s long-term commitment to ESG education and sustainable investment.
Market Milestone: 227 MWp Partnership at Amata

On November 3, SolarBK, Banpu NEXT and Amata Vietnam announced a partnership to develop 227 MWp of rooftop solar at Amata City Ha Long and Amata City Long Thanh. Scheduled for implementation from early 2026, the projects will supply on-site clean electricity to factories, ease grid pressure and support Vietnam’s national Net Zero targets.

Beyond commercial value, the agreement introduces a three-party collaboration model among industrial park developers, energy companies and investors. For SolarBK, it validates nearly two decades of pursuing integrated capabilities across technology, EPC, operations and ESCO/PPA financial models.
